HT Lucknow / Published Jun 12, 2015

The Lalitpur Power Generation Company Ltd. (LPGCL), part of the Bajaj Group, inked a pact with the state government for setting up of a 1980 MW (3 units of 660 MW each) state-of-the-art super critical thermal power plant at Lalitpur in Bundelkhand district of the state.

The project comes at a time when Samajwadi Party government is aggressively targeting to increase the power availability from the current 10,000 MW to over 20,000 MW by 2016-17.

The company claimed that first of the three units of 660 MW each was commissioned on Thursday while the other two units are in advanced stage of completion and are scheduled for commissioning soon.
