In what may help mitigate the power crisis in the days to come, the first 660 MW unit of the 1980 MW Lalitpur thermal plant was synchronised with the grid on Tuesday. The unit is expected to start running on full load within a month.The second 660 MW unit is scheduled to be synchronised with the grid next month. Set up by the Bajaj Group under the MoU route, the 1980 MW Lalitpur Plant is based on the super critical technology. The MoU for the project had been signed during the previous government.
